Q       What is a colloid?

A        It refers to a substance that consists of ultra fine particles that are suspended in a different material media, e.g. water.  Between .01 and .001 of a micron in diameter (four hundred thousandths to four millionths of an inch). The main things is that the particles must be insoluble, meaning they do not dissolve in the solution.  If the particles are too large they will eventually fall out of suspension and your get clumping etc.

Q       Is colloidal silver legal?

A        Technically, the FDA has said it falls within the perview of pre1938 (pre-FDA) supervision and that it can be sold as it was sold and manufactured then (it is grandfathered in as they say).  This basically means that no claims of “cures” can be made without going through the expensive and time consuming FDA testing.  It can be sold under these legal provisos.

Q       Well, if it is legal, why doesn’t my doctor use it?

A        Ayurvedic medicine has used it for centuries.  The Chinese have used it likewise.  Some MD’s have and do use some form of silver.  Our system is based on “allopathic” medicine and has become very drug-oriented since 1938.  Colliodal Silver is relegated to the “orphan drug” category, which means very much like “garlic”,  it is too good, to easy to get and thus cannot be sold by the big drug companies for 1000 per cent and more profit.  For a real brain buster, go read this article on how much these companies actually make, “Prescription Drug Profits Obscene”.    Also see:   An Industry Under Fire --- A Frontline PBS Report

Q       I heard that colloidal silver had been shown to kill over 650 pathogens.  Like what?  Where can I read about this?

A        There are lists of some of the diseases that colloidal silver was used on before 1938.  Also, until recently and perhaps still, a silver compound (was put on new born baby’s eyes so they would not go blind from infections and silver was and is used to help protect burn victims from infection. In the Russian space crafts, as reported by NASA, silver was used to clean and purify the water and air. It is highly efficient and does not wear out or degrade like some other methods.

“Over the past several decades, silver has been used in medicine in treating burns and for eye, ear, nose and throat, urethra and vaginal inflammation and infection. Silver needles are commonly used in acupuncture.  Silver ions have been used to treat cystitis and urinary tract infections in children. Silver salts have proved effective for warts. A silver compound know as silver sulfadiazine has been used in 70% of burn centers in the USA.

“Silver has been prescribed in Anthroposophical medicine, particularly as an aid to the brain, reproductive disorders in women, the circulatory system and as a disinfectant. It is also used as a remedy for mental imbalances, sleepwalking and anorexia nervosa.

“In Homeopathy, (which the FDA and AMA tried with a vengeance to destroy throughout the 20th century)  silver is used for headaches, chronic hoarseness, neuralgic pain in the joints, congestion of the windpipe, brain and sinus problems, and loss of control and balance.”

Colloidal Silver—The Association For Advanced Colloid Research 1994

“A speeding car overturned and burst into flames. The 18 year old driver sufferen burns all over his face, neck, arms, hands, back, stomach and legs---burns covered more than 80 per cent of his body. Until recently, this would have been a death sentence. Doctors knew how to restore vital body fluids and salts, but had no way to fight infection, the primary cause of death in burn cases.  Forturnately for this youth, a new silver compound killed deadly bacteria and enabled him to heal. He was out of the hospital within four monthes.”

Q       What if I make my own colloidal silver?  I see these kits and blueprints. Why can’t I save some money?

A        You can, of course make your own. That is how most manufactures got started.  However, before you do ask yourself if you think you can do it as well as folks who have been working at it for years and getting better every day.  All colloidal silveris not the same by any means.  The kind you make for yourself can suffice in a pinch, but why would you want to take clumpy, large molecular silver when you can buy it so cheap (at least from us)?  Take advantage of the division of labor that makes our country so great. Use your time for something more important and let us worry about making the best there is for you.  (Ex. You can make your own candles, but try making your own light bulb!)

Q       I keep seeing this ppm thing, like 3-5 part per million or more on colloidal silver.  What does it mean and should I care?

A        Some companies do not tell you.  They call their colloidal silver some high-falootin’ technical name and leave it at that.  We tell you.  Our Colloidal silver is100 parts per million which is very, very good.  There are no additives or binders etc. It is pure H2O and fine colloidal pure silver.  If you see a very high ppm or very low it could be because it either needs to be diluted with distilled water or it has to be low in order to be sold in some states, i.e. the FDA says colloidal silver is grandfathered in before the 1938 birth of the FDA, but they still regularly harass and threaten sellers of colloidal silver, especially if they make any health claims. (It has been verifed that colloidal silver kills over 650 different pathogens).

Jim Powell reported in Science Digest from 1978 in the article, “Our Mightiest Germ Fighter”:

“Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a wonder of modern medicine. An antibiotic kills perhaps a half-dozen different disease organisms, but silver kills some 650. Resistant strains fail to develop. Moreover, silver is virtually non-toxic.”

And, silver has no side effects. Is it any wonder, it is not favored by an industry that wants symptom suppression as opposed to cures, the effects of which can be seen in our present mess of a medical system?

Q       I see East Indians selling deserts in the their stores that have “silver” on them. Why not just eat silver if it does not hurt you?

A        That is true. They have eaten silver for thousands of years and it has done them good.  Just as the ancients used silver coins to purify their water, various cultures have found ways to use this amazing metal.  Colloidal silver is a far more efficacious way to introduce silver into the body.  The particles are very, very small (if the colloidal silver is a good type) and are easily absorbed and utilized.

Q       What do you mean “very, very small?”

A        Glad you asked.  As stated above; between .01 and .001 of a micron in diameter (four hundred thousandths to four millionths of an inch) qualifies chemically as “colloidal”. The ideal is to make the molecules of silver as small as possible with mono-atomic or “single” silver molecules as the limit.  Of course, no one has yet done this, but we are coming close and we know of one researcher who makes a “super silver’ that is very close to mono-atomic.  This just means that it can get into every nook and cranny and go after the bad guys that are hiding in various places in our bodies, e.g. cross the blood/brain barrier, get into the spinal fluid, etc.

Q       Okay, but how exactly does it work?

A        Let me quote from Zane Baranowski, CN;

“Silver is one of the most universal antibiotic substances.  When administered in the colloidal form, it is for all practical purposes, non-toxic. Silver has been proven to be effective against hundreds of infectious diseases.  Althought the exact mechanism for the provebn antimicrobial effects of silver is unknown, the most accepted theory is that silver disables the specific enzyme theat many forms of bacteria, viruses and fungi utilize for their metabolism.”

Colloidal silverby Zane Baranowski, CN  Healing Wisdom Pub. 1995

Also, he points out that disease organisms can frequently become immune and resistant to antibiotics triggering a dangerous super infection as we are now beginning to find out with the new “superbugs”.  Silver does not seem to suffer from this drawback of pharmaceuticals!  Maybe that is why they hate it so much.

There is much more. We recommend you research this for yourself. Keep in mind that every manufacturer has there own spin on the facts, so accept information with caution.  But, silver is undoubtedly beneficial to mammals and very bad for most pathogens, especially the anaerobic type that, coincidentally, are the ones that cause humans the problems.
